Dear Diary..........

Today I had a hard time, but it was cool as well. First I woke up and prepared myself for the Three Peaks. I got downstairs and had my breakfast. Then we had a little meeting to explain our walk and finally we went! First, I thought I was going to die, but afterwards I tried to be positive about all the things, and I think that I had a great time! It was very funny! I was exhausted when I arrived at the hotel but it was worth it!

My Tuesday in Itatiaia was amazing. I went to the visitor centre and I saw a frog that was black and red, or red and black. It was called Flamenguinho and I really liked that. The trip to the waterfall was long and cold. I went up and down on the long mountain. I jumped in the water and my skin burned with the cold. When I got back to the hotel I felt cool and I had a bath.

Today was a nice day. We all went to the SCARY THREE PEAKS! It wasn’t that scary, despite the fog, the rain and the cool temperature. We had to crawl, climb and WALK. We were very cold. Later on we went down on “ski bunda”, climbing, crawling and walking. We fell, we rolled and we got all dirty, but at the end of the day, it was a fun day.

Till not homesick! This is going to be a snap! Today I was supposed to go to the Three Peaks, but went to the river again. The waterfall is the most beautiful sight I have ever seen and I loved it! While I was there, I looked at some zooplankton and some phytoplankton, tiny organisms found in the water! This trip is going to be really grrrrreatt!

Today Group 1 had the opportunity of taking part in two activities that took some skill and a lot of courage. The weather was not ideal, however, we still had to go to the river. It was quite cold, but it was an amazing experience. My group worked really well together. The only thing that made us waste time was the fact that we had an ‘orange situation’ while measuring the river speed. After the river adventure we had lunch and then moved on to the next activity – the ropes course. It was quite frightening, but people dealt with it surprisingly well. I absolutely adored today and I’m hoping that tomorrow will be even better.

Today was a really exciting day. The monitor woke us up and we all dressed up quickly to arrive on time. I had an awesome breakfast and after that we had the river activity. It was really fun because I got wet all over. After lunch we all went to the ropes course, where we all tested our limits. I felt very proud of myself because I managed to complete the course and didn’t give up.

Yesterday we finally arrived in Itatiaia. It was our first night and today was our first whole day. My group’s first activity was the river study, where I got totally soaked and earned my first, second and third house points in Itatiaia. After all subgroups were finished with their work we came back to the hotel, where we had lunch. Then prepared for the next activity all group 1 (my group) walked to the ropes course. There we learnt that nothing is impossible and how to confront our fears. Coming back we took lots of photos and had our free time. As on every evening, we have an activity which takes place inside the hotel, tonight we are having a talent show!!!

It was quitre tough to make up at six o´clock, anxiety ran thru my body, up to the spine after a long while we were going to Itatiaia. Finally!!! It was quite a long way to arrive thoough i am sure it was warth it!! My bedroom was very cool, my best friend nearly brother, and after a while we receive a new mate with open arms. It was Luis. After unpacking we went to have our lunch and ten we went to the river study analisys. It was soberb.

Today we first spend three and half hours in a bus doing virtualy nothing except wathing film. It got boring in the end. Then we had lunch, it was ten times better then school (sorry Sodexo...). Then we left for the hidroeletrical power station. It was impressive!

Monday 24th September 2007

Today we visit the power station. We saw the Dam wich is impressively big. 85 meters, more precisely. OUr group also loocked at the generator and the turbines underneath the ground. It really spins fast and the generator distributes a lot of energy.
In the end of the expedition, we went on the top of the Dam. I had a chance to experience hoe it looks like from the top. I really enjoyed their first visit. In my point of view, it was very enjoyable.
